District News
THE DISTRICT MISSON GRANT will go to a program called, “Sharing Our Savior, One Meal at a Time, sponsored by “Forged by Fire Services”. They serve individuals and families living in communities across the United States who are recovering from natural disasters. Those in disaster-stricken areas will also receive spiritual care, a freshly prepared meal, a cross necklace provided by LWML women from around the U.S, devotional materials, Bibles, and eventually, thanks to a LWML National Mission Grant, be able to do laundry.
THE NATIONAL GRANT will go to two missions: The first is to the Lutheran High School of Greater New Orleans, which is teaching Christ to the physically handicapped. This mission grant will allow the school to purchase five handicapped student desks, two lunchroom tables, install two automatic door openers, and contribute toward paving a pathway from the school to First English Lutheran Church.
The second grant will provide a handicapped accessible van for teens with special needs in Hasting, NE, for an organization called “Our Place After School Care”, a caring Christian program for teenagers with special needs.
