Gospel Houses:
Did you know our Sunday School and Confirmation Classes are each in Gospel Houses? You might not even know what Gospel Houses are so read on to learn more.
What are Gospel Houses?
Gospel Houses are groups that have the name of each of the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each member of the group works to gain points for the group. At the end of the year Sunday School Year, we will see which house has the most points.
How do they get points?
They get points by doing all the various activities throughout the church. Attending Sunday School and Church is primary, but there are other ways as well. The Confirmation students and High School students can also do things like Acolyte or Usher to gain points for the team. For those that are tech and trivia savvy, you can also answer the Trivia questions on Sunday Morning for extra points.
How are the points tracked?
We track points when students sign up, check in or do the activity. If you or your child come to church and check in, it gets counted as a point. We take attendance at the beginning of Sunday School and with their lanyards, and we have a sign-up sheet for Acolyting and other activities in the welcome center.
How do we know how each of the Gospel Houses are doing?
Just recently I added a slide to our before and after church slide show, which has a real time look at where each house is and how many points they have. You can also click on the link below to see the up to date chart on the houses.
